These beautiful little rods can cause you bad stomach....Any idea of what they can be?

They are Escherichia Coli (E. Coli), a gram negative family of bacteria which is part of the intestinal bacterial flora. Some strains can cause serious food poisoning and that's why washing hands is always important.

These bacteria were discovered in 1885 by the German-Austrian doctor Theodor Escherich from whom they were called after.
